Cincinnati Stump Removal Services

The stump grinding and removal process is one of the least understood services in the tree and landscape industry. Many property owners, as well as most tree or landscape services, do not understand the stump and the large system of roots underneath the ground. Over 90% of the roots of the tree are in the upper 12 inches of soil. The roots naturally extend as far as the limbs go and, in good conditions, extend 15% past where the limbs stop (also called the drip line). Most stumps usually do not grow down beyond 6″ to 8″. The roots from most mature trees span a hundred to a hundred fifty feet in width. To remove all of the roots would be a monumental and extremely high priced venture. That is why the focus is on the stump.

Clean Cut Tree and Landscape provides tree and stump removal for any size tree stump or surface roots. We can remove your stump when we cut down your tree, or you can call us at a later date for stump grinding / removal. With our top of the line stump grinding machines, we can remove almost any unsightly stump from anywhere on your property and we can install new plants, grass or trees in its place.

The Stump Grinding Stump Removal Process

Step 1: Grind the stump into thousands of small wood chips.

Some of our customers choose to stop at step 1 and reuse the stump grindings as mulch or dispose of them. Be careful not to use fresh stump grindings around plants. If used around plants the grindings need to age 6 months to a year as most new stump grindings are acidic and could be harmful to plants.

Step 2 : Haul off the excess stump grindings.

Most stumps that are ground out leave behind a pile of stump grindings that could fill a pickup truck (and 3 to 4 trucks if the stump is very large). It is worth every dime spent to have the grindings hauled away unless you have a good place to use or dispose of them and a means to carry them.

Step 3: Install new grass, plants or a new tree.

Clean Cut Tree and Landscape is one of the few companies that offer true expertise at both tree service and landscape service. Contact us today to have your new grass, plants or trees installed. Or ask us about our full line of landscape service.
